The birth of a blog!

Today Fay and I discussed the idea of a blog.  She became excited at the prospect of hearing from her children and grandchildren.  How do I know?  Her face lit up and she looked animated.
We agreed to take pictures after she has her hair done later this week.
In the meantime, I will update with day to day events.
After dinner tonight, we went back to her room, where her roommate, Mrs. Jones had the television volume turned up quite high.  Since all the TVs are the same, I used Fay's remote to lower the volume from our side of the room through the curtain divider.  Then we began our nightly reading from Fay's missionary journal.  ( I found her journal in the file cabinet at the storage unit a couple of weeks ago. Don't worry-- Vern has begun the long arduous task of scanning the journal- all 300+ pages-so that you may all have a copy of your own.)  Tonight was a lively narrative!  I won't spoil it for you, but Fay is a marvelous journalist.  She has written a very  descriptive account of their experiences in Zaire, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
She wasn't feeling so well tonight.  She had a headache and her eyes were particularly sensitive to the light.  Sam, the nurse, took her temperature, which was 99.6.  She was given tylenol mixed with yogurt, which apparently did not taste good since she immediately frowned.  She was also given a cranberry juice chaser to get the bitter taste out of her mouth.  Then Ashley, the aide who works with her most nights came in help her get ready for bed.  (Ashley is very attentive; she notes any and all changes she sees in Fay's condition and relays them to the nurse and to me.)
